The most prized and important asset a company could ever have is human resources. Regardless of how great technologies and company may have, the employees make a business a failure or a success. This is even more so for higher executive management personnel. These people have the task of making important decisions that can affect and even change a company. That is why it is completely essential to hire the best quality candidates possible for high-level executive positions.

A great place to look for executive level management material would be an executive recruitment firm. Firms such as these are an invaluable resource when it comes to finding top-notch personnel; even though this can be expensive, the quality of the individual the firm finds for you will be well worth the money. Typically, a recruitment firm will focus on executive management personnel for specific industries or job types. They have a considerable knowledge as to the candidates out there and who is the most qualified and reputable since they have extensive lists and data on many potential employees. With their extensive knowledge, they will know who will fit best into the position you are looking to fill.

Executive recruitment firms will do many things that a human resource manager will be uncomfortable with doing. For instance, an executive recruitment firm is able to go to potential candidates working for the competition and offer them a new career opportunity working for your company or simply just see if they are interested. Since executive recruitment firms are constantly searching for new candidates they have quite a list to select from of potential executive management personnel. Therefore, they can find someone who will suit your needs at a moment's notice.

They have an extensive working knowledge on these potential candidates and will have an accurate understanding on who has the best skills suited for the job you are looking for them to do. If a company seeking management personnel has a set salary scale of pay the recruitment firm will know who will be interested in the position based on the money being offered and their skills to match it.

Executive recruitment firms also have the added advantage of bringing confidentiality to the situation. Organizations typically do not wish to be seen approaching executive personnel from a rival company and offering them a job. This will bring only a boatload of unwanted attention and even embarrassment if the potential candidate from the other company rejects the offer. Therefore, the executive recruitment helps both parties out by acting as a middleman. They also help avoid any friction that can occur during such negotiations keeping possibilities open for the future.

It is not recommend using an executive recruitment firm to fill up entry-level positions in the company since this would be rather unneeded and expensive. Moreover, you will want an executive recruitment to help track down reputable and quality executive material to fill you high-level positions. Executive recruitment firms know just who will work best for you and your scenario.

It's hard to keep working everyday without seeing any results. You follow orders, but from your point of view, see things not get done, or not get done the proper way. That is why you should think about being a leader.

Some people believe that great leaders are made, not born. Yes, it may be true that some people are born with natural talents. However, without practice, without drive, without enthusiasm, and without experience, there can be no true development in leadership. You must also remember that good leaders are continually working and studying to improve their natural skills. This takes a commitment to constantly improve in whatever endeavor a person chooses.

First of all, let's define leadership. To be a leader, one must be able to influence others to accomplish a goal, or an objective. He contributes to the organization and cohesion of a group. Contrary to what most people believe, leadership is not about power. It is not about harassing people or driving them using fear. It is about encouraging others towards the goal of the organization. It is putting everyone on the same page and helping them see the big picture of the organization. You must be a leader not a boss. You have to get people to follow you. How is this accomplished?

Leadership depends on where you are taking the organization. To be a leader, you must know what you're doing. You need to know who to talk to, and where you want to go. If your followers trust in your judgment for the organization, they will be on board with you and from there you should prosper.

As a leader, you must remember that your whole organization's reputation is based on your work ethic. Everything comes down onto you. That is why you need to build trustworthy, confident relationships with your subordinates. You must know that if you give them reason to trust you and your judgments, they will do everything in their power to work hard to better the organization.

Communication is the most important skill a leader should have. Without communication, you would not be able to have the loyalty of your subordinates, or communicate your ideas to better help the organization. After you have built a trustworthy relationship with your members, that is when you show the skills you do have that will help positively better the organization.

Good judgment is another important aspect of being a leader. You must be able to take on any situation and figure out a solution that is best for the organization. Leaders can not always do it all. Therefore you must get to know your subordinates and the skills they encompass. Then you can soon work together fixing issues, and finding solutions.

Remember being a leader takes a good deal of work and time. It is not learned overnight. Also, it is not about just your. It is about you and the people around you. So, do you have the drive and the desire required of leaders? Do you have the desire to work cooperatively with other people? Then start now. Take your stand and be a leader today!

Leadership Development as an Art
Having a team follow and look up to you indicate signs of leadership. As one who has signs of being a leader, one must enhance this ability since not all are given the chance to be leaders. Having the ability to lead is a gift. It's something that is offered to all, but only few respond to this call. That's why, as one of the few who respond, it is your duty to keep moving forward with the skill. Leadership Development training is created for this purpose. It will help you become a better leader not only to your team, but also for yourself.

Leadership development is simply the act of someone wanting to enhance ones skills in leadership. A person wanting to become a great leader will definitely be needing such training to become even more effective. It involves one's attitudes, decision making skills, behavior, commitments and some technical things like economics and sociological, psychological and philosophical thinking. Only the basics. Besides, being an effective leader involves all aspects in inter and intrapersonal skills.

To become an effective leader, one must also know who and how his people are, and what kind of people he is dealing with. You must study their sociological traits, physiological makeup, psychological aspects and philosophical beliefs; all of which will be taught and elaborated in Leadership Development courses, workshops or seminars. To become a leader, you must be familiar with yourself internally and externally.

As a leader, you have to know what your boundaries are. Boundaries include having intimate relationships with your followers. As part of your behavior as a leader, you should know that it is unprofessional to be having intimate relationships with those who follow you because that could shed light on the idea of having biases on him/her. Another is that you shouldn't abuse this power given to you. Of course, you should respect those who have faith and trust in you. Don't steal from them, or bribe them or scare them. Be a good leader by being in their shoes, not stepping on their shoes.

These are only a few things that you will learn in Leadership Development programs, workshops, courses or seminars. These are only a few of the techniques just a part of the whole.

Only when you are in the Valleys is when your true character is revealed, never on mountain tops. It is very easy to be excited when things are fine. Real test is how do you behave when challenges hit you, when you are being laughed at, ridiculed, or rejected?

It is challenging and difficult -

To Appreciate when others are criticizing

To Build when others are destroying

To Co-operate when others are resisting

To Decide when others are misguiding

To Expedite even when others delayed you

To Forgive when others want to revenge

To keep Giving when others are refusing

To keep Helping when others are only promising

To simply Ignore when others keep on condemning

To bring justification when others keep on disputing

To be Kind when others are cursing

To Lead when others get confused

To keep Motivating when others are discouraging

To Neglect when others are disturbing

To Oblige when others are hesitating

To Participate when others avoide

To keep Questioning when others are dictating

To Respect when others complain

To Serve when others are despairing

To Think over when others keep on advising

To be United when others keep dispersing

To Verify when others are doubting

To Work when others are postponing

To Xerox truth when others hide

To Yield no hatred when others harm

To Zeal & console when others depress you

Are you ready for the Challenge ? If you're ready for it, you can be wealthy beyond imagination!

A person's true character is revealed by what he does when no one else is looking. Although the tongue does not weigh heavy, very few people are able to hold it. Falling down does not make you a failure, but staying down always does. Don't be afraid of pressure, Remember that a lump of coal turns into a diamond because of the pressure.

Even a woodpecker owes his success to the fact that he has to use his head. Poor is not the man without a cent but the man without a dream. Best preparation for tomorrow is the right use of today.

How To Build Self Confidence: A Few Tips

Whoever you are, you have probably struggled at some point in your life with feelings of inadequacy or low self esteem. Sometimes this happens as a result of our childhood. We may have internalized, because of adults or peers in our lives, the idea that we were somehow unworthy. Sometimes, low self esteem comes later in life as the result of a broken relationship or the loss of a job. Sometimes we feel stifled by our lack of money or our station in life. No matter what caused our feelings, all of us could, at some point, use some ideas of how to build self confidence.

People often feel that their own emotions are beyond their control. If you feel bad because of outside people or events, you might think that the solution to your bad feelings can only come from the outside as well. That is simply not true. You can do many things to raise your own confidence level and improve your state of mind. Here are some places to start.

Exercise

Exercise works wonders in building self confidence and improving one's mood. And extra 30-45 minutes of physical activity two to four times a week can make a huge difference in your life. You will notice that when your body feels good, you feel much better about yourself. The more you work out, the better you feel. As you get more and more in shape, and are able to work out longer and harder, your confidence improves.

Find Something You Do Well

No matter who you are, there are things that come naturally to you and that you can do well without too much effort. For some, it may be writing. For others, singing. Some people are amazing cooks, while others are wonderful listeners. It is important to find out what you do naturally well, and to do it on a regular basis. There is nothing wrong with challenging yourself and learning how to do new things; that is a great risk to take! But you will do much better at the more challenging things if you give yourself the regular reinforcement and boosted confidence that comes from doing the things that come naturally.

Take Pride in Your Appearance

If you are depressed, one of the worst things you can do is to let your depression manifest itself in your appearance. However, that is all too often exactly what happens. When we are depressed, we lack the energy to take care of ourselves. We look tired and disheveled, and the image in the mirror only reinforces our feelings of inadequacy. When you are depressed, it is even more important to wear colors that make you feel good and clothes that make you feel confident and attractive. That way, each time you see your reflection, your low self esteem is challenged rather than reinforced.

We all wonder how to build self confidence. Making changes in our lives can certainly help, but one of the best ways is to work with what you have. You, as you are, are already good enough. So, as the old saying goes, "get in where you fit in." Loving yourself as you are will lead to positive change.

Surprises for the new CEO of Mid-Market Companies

We have found the new CEO or business leaders of a mid-market organization is surprised the job is not what he or she thought it would be and this new CEO is often hit by many unexpected events especially when they take over in tough economic times.

For a new CEO of a mid-market company it does not take long before they are drowning in reports, memos, and other insane demands on their time. Then to make it worse, the CEO realizes that much of the information is not reliable and many of the demands on their time are not translating into improving the business. Finally the CEO recognizes that the extra demands of the job are cutting into family life and friends are being ignored making the CEO feel more and more issolated.

Another common challenge is dealing with the employees who only want to tell new CEO the good news and ignore or hide the bad news. Out of a sense of frustration the new CEO will find themselves walking the hallways of the office or the production line of the factory or going on sales calls to find out what is really going on. However it is lonely at the top and so the CEO needs to find others who understand what what the CEO needs so they can give honest and useful feedback to help the CEO get the best data and advice on what is going on.

It is often an ego boost for a new CEO to make many of the decisions until they realize they are making decisions their direct reports should make and clogging up the system as these direct reports line up outside the CEO's office instead of making the decisions and keeping things moving along. The CEO needs to become very clear on what decisions need CEO input and the rest of the decisions can be taken by others.

An experienced CEO often checks 800 dials a day of what is going on, a bit like an airline pilot checks the gauges in the cockpit. However during the early days the CEO often needs lists to remind them of what to check and what to follow up on. However these lists can become several pages long which means the CEO is trying to do too much. A key lesson for the CEO is being able to pick the two or three key things and delegate or ignore the rest.

Repetition is a common complaint of new CEOs. They are frustrated at having to repeat their message over and over again, not realizing that every time they say or do something, the employees react by spending hours amplifying, scrutinizing, interpreting and often misinterpreting the message. It is only the constant repetition that finally reduces their need to scrutinize the message looking for hidden meaning.

New CEOs are amazed at how long it takes to get the little things done. They are often tempted to do things themselves as they can't understand the lack of urgency by employees to address such things. People only seem to do the things the CEO follows up on and, even then, many things don't seem to get done. Eventually, the CEO starts to keep a list of people who honour their promises and get stuff done, on time and right. This is a mighty short list.

The CEO today is expected by the shareholders, board of directors and staff to be a mind reader and know exactly what customers are thinking and what to do about it. The CEO is often further from the customer and less in touch than the sales people but is expected to have greater insight than the sales people. The CEO is also further away from the daily operations yet is expected to have the all the answers to what is getting done when and where. The pressure to have all the answers grows until one day someone whispers in the CEO's ear that it is ok to say "I don't know - what do you think?" Successful CEOs learn these insights over time but few CEO's are given this information or insight before they take on the job!

Some CEOs are great story tellers, while others are great delegators. What ever the talent, there is nothing like having a check list of items for every meeting to focus the attention and get things allocated and decided. However there are some checklist items that are tougher for the CEO to deal with than others. We call these tough ones the Show Stoppers. The common show stoppers for a mid-market organization include: when management cannot agree on the future direction of the business; cash flow challenges or the banker giving the company a hard time; losing key customers or having to drop prices to get customers; as well as issues like struggling to get work out the door on time; losing key personnel and late and inaccurate financial reporting; not to mention the dealing with the day the shareholders decide to sell the business you are running.

So for the new CEO it is best to think of the job as a marathon, not a sprint - and pace themselves as they will probably face one or more items on the show stopper list every year for most of their CEO tenure.

The Healthcare Sector in the United States is going to change in the very near future. As the aging population grows and cost of health care rises, the concept of Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) is emerging. The US House bill calls for a three-to-five year Medicare pilot project to see if ACOs can lower costs and improve care. The goal of an ACO is to encourage hospitals and physicians to, "integrate care," by holding them collectively responsible for improved quality. ACOs demand that hospitals and doctors work closely together to share financial risk as well as potential savings.

The IT world has an opportunity to revolutionize the healthcare industry. The current healthcare IT landscape has limited EMR/EHR penetration and is inefficient to address demands of emerging health care delivery and business models.

The role of the CIO in the complex landscape of eHealth is paramount. This panel will explore how CIO's leverage technology to create synergies within the economic and delivery systems of new models of care, to coordinate comprehensive end-to-end processes to enhance patient care outcomes while integrating more financial efficiencies into these processes.

What role will remote or virtual healthcare assume in the continuum of care of the future? What impact will better integrated EMR/EHRs and more readily synthesized patient information have on the continuity of care and, consequently, the delivery of quality care? How will patient treatment modalities and patient interaction with care providers be different with new eHealth initiatives? What impact will new models of care and IT innovations have on the economics of providing care?

These are only a few of the questions that will be presented with actionable answers to follow. Please join the innovative and progressive thinkers and practitioners in eHealth that will reshape the future of healthcare in light of pending legislative reform and challenging economic realities.

Join your peers in shaping the future.
It is quite common for companies these days to thrive in a competitive world. This makes it important for companies to rise as leaders in the industry to which they belong. With this in mind, it is quite important for companies to have leaders who are able to effectively direct employees to the accomplishment of performance and organizational goals. An effective leadership training and development program can help much in making it possible for companies to continuously improve the skills of each and every leader that it has.

Then there is the bigger question on what elements make a leadership training program effective. Organizations must take note that it takes more than one element to determine the success or failure of such a program. Thus, it is important for organizations to understand that this kind of training and development program must not only be able to improve the quality of leadership in the different work teams, it must also be able to pinpoint potential leaders who can effectively lead the organization in the future.

One of the most important things that a leadership training program must focus on is business leadership. Participants must be able to learn essential, as well as tried and tested leadership skills and techniques that will help them become highly effective and well respected leaders not only in the organization but also in the business and the whole industry. For this to be possible, they must be able to see and understand the different mysteries that surround leadership - just like the myth that good leaders are born and not made. By understanding these mysteries, they will be able to have a clearer, simpler, and more updated view of good leadership.

Through a training and development program for effective leadership, leaders and would-be leaders will be able to learn different skills and techniques needed so they can effectively and positively lead their subordinates in the modern workplace. These include learning skills needed in persuading, influencing, and leading difficult people that can often prove to be tricky.

With an effective and successful leadership training program, leaders will be able to learn how to create reliable, robust, and attractive goals and objectives that will set the direction for the future of the organization. They will also be able to communicate such a vision effectively that will enable them to see the many benefits of people who are working at the best of their abilities to complete tasks and projects that have been successfully initiated. Learn more about how to implement this program today so you can help leaders learn how to bring the organization closer to its goals.
