Search Engine Marketing is an emerging discipline that incorporates various internet communications methodologies to help an organization earn revenue and new sales via the internet. Applied correctly, these methods can produce remarkable sales results. However, for the unsuspecting, these can also prove to be expensive efforts. A Low Cost SEO strategy can be developed however, to control costs and to still win new revenue streams.

Banner ads, pay per click (PPC) models and other technologies can bring in significant business. Like traditional advertising though, this costs the advertiser real dollars. Ideally, most advertising programs are targeted to reach those consumers who are most likely to buy. Research has shown that nearly 70% of all consumers will research their purchase on line prior to completing the sale. This means that reaching the customer via the internet at exactly the point he/she is ready to buy is exceptionally important.

Gaining attention at the point in the buying process where readers are likely to open the company web page or blog is central to earning sales. There are two primary methods for getting company information (web pages) into the prospects view.

There exist two essential methods for reaching customers at this stage of the buying process: Pay Per Click and Organic Search These are separate disciplines that require a financial investment by the website owner, but both are necessary to building an on line sales program. And contrary to popular thought, these two methods of outreach using search engines can effectively work together to form a long term internet marketing strategy.

Pay Per Click (PPC) Hiring Google or one of the other search engines to display an ad when users submit search requests using pre-determined keywords or phrases is termed the Pay Per Click or PPC method. Google is quite helpful in providing tools to help manage the effort. The effort can connect internet users to companies offering information on the product the prospect is searching for. Still, this costs the advertiser real dollars and can be quite expensive.

One of the drawbacks of PPC is the fact that internet readers fully understand that someone is paying for this advertising. Consumer behavior shows that readers tend to trust sponsored links less than organic ones. Accordingly, it takes many exposures or impressions of the ad to generate significant traffic.

Pay Per Click then requires a budget to operate the process. It also necessitates producing a good quality web page, which can be another significant expense. Ongoing maintenance of the PPC effort is also required as costs can easily escalate without earning sales. Page owners typically learn a great deal about which PPC ads generate readers and which generate sales, so constant monitoring and judgment is required for as long as the program is underway.

Organic Links: Page links that appear on the search engine results that are not found within the sponsored link sections are referred to as "Organic Links." As opposed to PPC links, Organic links are highly favored by readers over the sponsored ones. Over the long term then, website owners should be focused on developing a page that will rank well when users run searches for their product information on Google, Yahoo or other search engines.

As these Organic Links are trusted to a much greater level than sponsored ones, users are much more likely to click on an organic link. The major drawback to pursuing Organic Links or good search page ranking is that it can take a great deal of time and effort. Some short cuts may be available to save some costs here and there, but there is no short cut to the time it takes. Usually, the link building and other required tasks can be ongoing for 90 days or more without a significant improvement in search engine placement or traffic.

Both Pay Per Click and Organic Link methods can attract users researching a product purchase. Both methods have significant advantages and disadvantages, but if applied as part of a comprehensive strategy, both can work together. And working these methods in concert with one another is where costs can be controlled.

In the end, website owners should focus on building strength within the Organic Links arena using SEO or Search Engine Optimization techniques. Although achieving results with the search engines may be painfully slow at times, having the company link displayed near the top of the Google search results can attract the kind of traffic needed to win new sales.

Contextual advertising is a great way to profit from your website by providing links which could truly interest your readers. Naturally, you only get money whenever they click the links on your blog, so doesn't it make sense to offer them relevant services and products?

Traditionally, contextual ads took the form of banners across the tops of websites and images together online content. This technique of advertising was made popular through Google's AdSense program, that is still going very strong today. You could find countless networks offering services very similar to AdSense, and these services are tried and tested ways for website publishers to produce additional cash.

But what if you could increase your website revenue even further? You can through In Text contextual ads like the ones offered through Infolinks. In Text ads are the perfect addition to traditional ppc campaigns that make use of images. In Text contextual ads appear as links to keywords within your website content. The links are underlined two times instead of once, and a small bubble opens when a mouse cursor moves over them.

Despite the fact that In Text contextual advertising does supplement traditional methods of advertising very well, there are also various merits that come with an In Text campaign. In addition to the extra revenue you'll earn from having both forms of advertisements on your page, you will also enjoy a higher click-through rate on the In Text ads. Advertisers have realized that a lot of people tend to tune out noisy banner ads and images that don't go with the article they're reading. However, they are more likely to click on an advertisement that's embedded right into the text they're reading. In Text ads are also a type of permission marketing. This means that small balloon that opens over the In Text ads gives your website visitors a choice on whether or not they want to see the advertisement. The balloon offers just enough information to tell your website visitors what the link offers. If they don't like it, they won't click on it, pure and simple.

Infolinks is a advertising network that offers contextual ads. The company's record indicates it to be the highest paying In Text advertising provider. Infolinks uses revolutionary technology that better matches advertisements to website content. Better matches mean more clicks for your website, and more clicks on your website means more cash flowing in.

Can Affiliate Marketing Make Money Online?

With an Affiliate Marketing business you will make money online in your internet home business. And you do not need a product or a website.

What is Affiliate Marketing? In this business you make money by recommending products and services to others. You attract visitors to the web page of the product you recommend (not necessarily your web page), and if those visitors buy, then you earn a percentage of the sale. Affiliate Marketing is a proven money-making business and is one of the best ways for a beginning online home business person to get started. Following are 3 of the biggest reasons this is such a great business.

1. There's no inventory expense. The merchant website owner is responsible for the delivery of the product, not you. All of the worries about procurement, warehousing, insurance, etc. are not your headache. The merchant website owner is responsible for delivering the product after the sale. In fact, you don't have any of the issues that come with operations and production.

2. No hassles with payments, or payment processing. This is the affiliate program's problem. You don't have to deal with credit problems, overdue payments, accounts receivable, or any of these buyer payment money issues

3. No time spent on processing refunds or returns. Once again these are the duties of the affiliate program owner and the merchant website owner. If the buyer has some problem after the sale, you don't have to solve it.

These are three important points. The affiliate program and merchant website are responsible for some of the riskiest and most time and labor consuming issues you must face in the Affiliate Marketing business. When you are an affiliate marketer, your only tasks are to identify possible online buyers of a product or service, point them to a website that sells that product (or service), and earn your profits when those possible online buyers, turn into real online buyers.

So, now you can see that Affiliate Marketing will make money online. And that this form of business makes money without the need for you to have a product or a website.

When It Comes To Traffic, Are You Organic?

Establishing your own E-commerce site is not what it used to be. There are thousands of competitors that are competing for a bigger share of the market. Every method you can find to augment your sales will be beneficial.

Honestly we are all in this to make money. That's why we spend so much time and money in creating and managing our websites. Most websites are commercial in nature and exist for the sole purpose of earning revenue for their owners.

It is certain that a website without traffic means a business without customers. No customers means there are no sales. No sales, no revenue equals no profit and eventually no site. Website traffic is the life-blood of the Internet. You need to get a lot of people to your website to increase the odds for potential sales.

To be honest, no one spends the time and money to create a website and maintain just for their own satisfaction.

The internet has proven to be a very reliable source in finding what was deemed to be non-existent. The internet has made the world a smaller place; you can advertise a product from Asia and find a buyer from North America in an instant. This has made the Internet the most desirable place to do business, in my opinion.

Website traffic has never been easy, considering the great numbers of competing sites from all over the world. The good news is that if you do it right your rewards will be substantial and very cost effective, especially the monetization of your site.

Therefore, to get to the core of it the creating more traffic you need to understand the types of traffic available.I break down traffic into two basic categories: Organic and Paid.

Let's look at Organic traffic first, it's homegrown so to speak. It's the traffic that comes from non-paid sources. This is search engine traffic or link traffic from sites of which you have reciprocal links. Search engine traffic, although free, is a time consuming process for the patient and assiduous. Link traffic is an arduous task as well, but quite rewarding.

Paid traffic however, can produce targeted traffic as well and can be as fast as a few hours of a listing. The most popular paid traffic is pay per click ads. The largest PPC advertising comes from Google AdWords. Adwords can and will produce substantial views to your website, however it can get expensive. Yahoo Marketing also offers a similar product. Both products are primarily text type ads, although today you can specify text, image or video. A small percentage of today's paid traffic is still in banner advertising but most of the banner ads are now part of the two major advertisers Google and Yahoo.

You may want to seriously consider utilizing some free traffic methods before you embark on a PPC ad campaign.

The argument for pay per click advertising is you will find out quickly if your product has a market, and if it does, pay per click can be very rewarding. Do the math ahead of time by estimating your cost and the number of clicks on your ad and how many convert to sales. This is very important, as you may have a very decent click through rate but a poor conversion to sales rate. This equates to losing money over the long run.

Organic traffic, without question, is the best type of traffic for your website. First because it can bring highly targeted traffic to you site from individuals who are searching for your specific keyword phrases. Second, because you are obviously doing all the right things on your website that the search engines like as well. This can only mean that you will appear in other search engine results pages as well.

At the end of the day you have to decide what you can afford to do and what is the best method for your niche and products.

Even More Pay Per Click Madness

Having been on the Internet for over ten years the affiliate market has changed dramatically. It wasn't that long ago that several large online sites held command of the affiliate universe. Even today they still have the largest number of affiliate memberships. What has changed is that just about anyone can have an affiliate program due to the emergence of sites like ClickBank and Shareasale. The affiliate member has the opportunity to share in the profits by as much as 70%!

This high rate of commission is just for placing a link on your site to a landing page. If the individual you sent, to that site, buys the product you earn the commission. Pay Per Click has pretty much changed the affiliate landscape because today you don't even need a website to advertise your affiliate link. You can place a pay per click ad on one of the large ppc networks such as Google or Yahoo. If a person clicks on your ad and goes to the affiliates landing page and buys the product you earn the commission. If you have put 2 and 2 together you figured out that PPC ads are driven by keywords. When you set up an ad you select and bid on a range of keywords. When someone searches for something using one of those selected keywords, your PPC ad will come up.

Both Google and Yahoo request that you provide them with a list of keywords for your product. You think of about ten or more keywords that are associated with your product. You list each of them within your Google ad. Google then asks you what's the maximum price per click you'll pay. Being an astute business person, you decide that you can afford $.10 per click with a maximum of $25.00 per day. This would give you 250 clicks on your ad per day. That doesn't mean that 250 people will buy, it just means that 250 people have looked at the "landing/sales page." How many of the 250 will buy? Good question. I knew you were paying attention. The answer is: your guess is as good as mine. It could be 10% of the 250 clickers or 1% of the clickers or .1%. This would be called the conversion rate.

In theory running a PPC ad with Google or Yahoo sounds like a cinch. It's not and I'll tell you why. Pay Per Click Madness starts when you come to the realization that your maximum per click amount is absolutely too low but you just can't afford any more. That would mean something like this: Your per click maximum is 10 cents, but the keyword phrase that you need to have is $1.00 per click. With a daily max amount of $25.00 you will only get 25 clicks per day which is hardly enough to run a successful program based on the conversion rates I mentioned before. Should you pack it in? Not necessarily because they are a few ways to get around this.

Unless your affiliate ad copy or sales page is dynamic enough to get a 50+% conversion rate off just a few clicks, I would urge you to use a keyword suggestion or generation tool. There are many free ones available, so you needn't buy anything just yet. See our blog below for further information. My main focus in this article is to try and explain that the pay per click market can be an incredible tool to make you money, however, it can also put you in the poorhouse as well if you don't have the proper controls on your PPC programs.

Testing your theories on a smaller PPC network is one way of validating your business hunches before committing to big bucks. There are quite a few of these, what I like to call, "second tier" PPC networks that are ideal for trying out ideas in multiple ads before using the big PPC networks like Google and Yahoo.

Sometimes just thinking through an idea and testing it out before making a large financial commitment is just the right thing to do. You don't have to be a fortune 500 company to run market segment tests. You can do it on a smaller scale and get the same results.

Is Internet Advertising In CPA Better Than In PPC?

It is obvious that the internet cannot live without internet advertising. Similar to television and print media entities, websites need the power of advertising to survive. This is why the sensible step to take if you want to promote or sell a product or service is to launch an advertising program using a specific model or several models.

The most popular advertising model to date is pay-per-click or PPC. The basic idea behind PPC is that advertisers are asked to pay every time someone clicks on an advertisement. The simple form of this model charges advertisers a fixed rate for every click. The more complicated version requires advertisers to bid on an advertising spot that is often based on a keyword. There are many online entities that support internet advertising in PPC form. Some of the most popular programs are run by major search engine companies.

It is obvious that search engines have been succeeding with the PPC model. It is also clear though that there are some issues to using this model. One main objection leveled against PPC models is the amount of money needed to support a serious campaign. The cost of a campaign becomes even more of a concern when you consider that advertisers have to pay for every click even if many of them do not convert to profits. The bidding model is also very aggressive. There is no chance that small advertisers can win against big competitors.

Because of the issues surrounding PPC, CPA advertising has emerged as a possible alternative model. In a CPA campaign, an advertiser is only obligated to pay when an action he specifies is met. Examples of this are when an advertisement viewer subscribes, fills up a form, buys a product or pays for a service. An advertiser can set many more different conditions and the availability of these conditions will depend on the CPA provider.

The major benefit of CPA as an alternative to PPC is clear. As an advertiser, you are able to save more on advertising because you only pay for what you want to happen. This will allow you to spend your extra cash on other aspects of your advertising campaign.

Internet advertising in CPA format can be used as a stand-alone tool. Others however prefer to use this model only under specific circumstances. Some for example go for this model when they need to test advertisement performance or an ad campaign or program first. For advertisers with limited funds however, there may be no better option than CPA.

Of course, there may be some disadvantages to CPA. These however may depend a lot on individual CPA providers. Huge PPC providers have devised systems that already work like clockwork. You may have to spend some time looking for a CPA provider that has an outstanding system that will give you exactly what you want in a timely and glitch-free manner.

It's not easy to find out which is the better model between CPA and PPC. Advertisers do not share the same circumstances so one model may be better than the other depending on your situation. Even so, it is safe to say that CPA is a fairly good model to consider using.

In any PPC Campaign, the most important ingredient is keyword research. Unfortunately, sometimes keyword research can be a long and tedious thing. In a world of "you can do it fast or do it right", is there a way to have both? Actually, there are tools that allow you do "do it fast" and "do it right".

Wordtracker (www.wordtracker.com) and AdWord Accelerator (www.wordtracker.com) are good at giving you analysis on finding the most competitive keywords in your marketplace. It will give you bid price estimates, search volume, and help you single out the best performing ads. Adword Analyzer (www.adwordanalyzer.com) and Keyword Analyzer (www.keywordanalyzer.com) are other complimentary tools that will help you with other aspects of PPC Management.

These websites are really just the starting point for your search. They do not contain an exhaustive list of words people will be using when conducting searches for the items or services you promote. Here are some ideas that will help you find those little "extras" that will make your PPC campaign especially successful.

Search for Synonyms of your starting list. Use word processing programs or the internet to get other ideas. Some people say tissues, others say Kleenex. You need to cover all of these to make sure you are capturing all search " And to see if one variation performs better than another. www.LexFN.com is a useful web site that is an elaborate thesaurus

In regards to using brand names as synonyms (such as "Kleenex"), there are provisions to keep in mind. For example, AdWords users bidding on trademarks and trademarked names have had legal ramifications with Google. You CAN bid on magazine names, names of companies, associates, famous people, and famous places if they're related to your product which is an effective strategy. You CANNOT, however, use the trademarked names in the Ad itself. The trademarks will get you in trouble with both Google and the other company.

Remember people sometimes misspell words in their searches. Believe it or not, many times the click-through rate is higher on misspelled words, and you have the added benefit of their being less costly to bid on; plus, many other PPC campaigns will not include a large number of misspelled words.

All of the tips provided above will assist in making your keyword search as complete as possible. And it will take you less time than ever if you use some of the tools listed here!

Getting rich with affiliate marketing is easy if you do it the right way. Just like your day job and retail business, you need to treat affiliate marketing like real business. You must know the right secrets, with appropriate tools in order to succeed.

The following are certain tools that you will need in order to get the most from affiliate programs.

1. A simple, but professional-looking website. The first step would be to register your domain name and get a paid hosting.

There are lots of free hosting service all around the web, but all these services are just for personal use. It is not suitable for online business and marketers. Most of them will paste ads around your website, making it looks ugly and distract your visitors. This will waste your traffic generation effort. Which is why, search at Google and get a professional, reliable hosting service.

Now that you get the hosting and domain name, it is time for website creation. If you are not a professional, then don't worry. There are lots of options available. One way would be to install Wordpress blog. By using Wordpress and choose the correct theme, you can have a good-looking blog in short time.

By having your own website, you can increase the conversion rate. The trick is to provide honest review in your website. You can also collect your visitors' emails and send follow up messages.

2. A reliable auto responder service. Email marketing is one of the most powerful traffic generation methods. It will encourage repeat visits and more sales. Based on research, most people will buy something only after seven follow up messages.

You should avoid sending emails to people for free. Email accounts are equipped with spam filter these days, so if you send emails for free, your message would probably fall into spam folder. Plus, it would be impossible to send emails manually everyday, especially to thousands of people. Which is why, auto responder service like Aweber will assist you and automate the process.

The next thing you should do is provide freebies to attract more people so they will sign up to your list. You can offer free reports, eBooks, videos or software.

3. Pay-per-click account. This one is a must. Although you can get targeted traffic for free using search engine optimization or article marketing, you still cannot ignore pay-per-click advertising. The most popular would be Google Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing.

Then, choose your keywords carefully when starting a PPC campaign. You need to avoid bidding on broad keywords like money, laptop and camera. Research properly and advertise only for long-tail keyword terms.

How to Run More Successful Pay Per Click Ads

There are ways to get the maximum results from your already highly effective Google Adwords Pay per click campaign that can be done before writing and executing an ad. If your ad is very specific, and you have written it in such a way that it will draw in the potential customers, you will be able to make your Pay per click ad for Google Adwords work better. Expert Author, Bruce Brown, in his book, "The Ultimate Guide to Search Engine Marketing: Pay Per Click Advertising", shows more solutions to the problem he had stated about generic ads simply not working with Pay per click advertising. Here are a few basic methods that you can apply to make your Pay per click campaign with Google Advertising work more efficiently:

1. Ads should link directly to the product purchase page. It is better to bring a visitor directly to the sales page than to the home page. By directly linking the visitor to a product purchase page, you will have a better chance of making a sale.

2. Find a reputable service provider. Some of the leading search engines are Google and the others like Bing and Yahoo!, and you can place your Pay per click campaign in any of these. A good basis for deciding which service provider to use is how much exposure your ad can get because the site has large enough audience. A majority of internet marketing experts use Google Adwords.

3. Find out what the top ten list of results already looks like. Since you'll be competing for the top spot on search results for a particular keyword or phrase, find out what the competition is already using. What is at the top of the search results page? What can you do differently? Also keep in mind that many people do still scroll through various Pay per click ads, so even if yours isn't at the top of your rotation, you still have a chance of getting clicked when someone finds something else that matches their interest.

4. Expand your online marketing. Pay per click campaigns like Google Adwords are just one element of online marketing. Expand your internet marketing campaign with other techniques such as affiliate marketing, contextual advertising and classified ads to reach a wider audience.

5. Take advantage of demographic targeting for your ads. Demographic targeting is an option of many Pay per click ads such as Google Adwords has, and you can effectively use this feature to narrow down your target audience. Using this demographic targeting as part of your strategy will help you save money, and will also make it easier to for you attract highly qualified buyers and customers each time your ad appears.

6. Do your keyword research. The Google Keyword Tool is among several keyword research tools readily available on the web. These keyword research tools can help you generate a number of targeted keywords and phrases that your ideal market may be interested in. Create a comprehensive list of keywords and keyphrases that your target market would be interested in so that you can capture the largest possible market with each and every ad you create.

7. Get an Ad Filtering feature. You can cut down on fraudulent clicks by blocking certain websites or regions that you deem unnecessary to your marketing strategy. Aside from being able to budget your expenses, you can get to estimate what your actual click through rates and conversion rates are. Pay per click providers like Google Adwords have fraud detection and prevention programs that you can use if you suspect any such activity.

You can make the most of your Pay per click campaign like that of Google Adwords to bring in more of the kind of traffic that you want. These are just the very basic things that you have to know to run at the highest efficiency your Pay per click campaign like that of Google Adwords. If you want to be able to get a bigger share of the enormous income potential that the internet can give to you, it will be to your advantage to apply the other marketing strategies like that which can be found with Google Advertising.

The PPC Evolution is a product of renowned internet consultants and entrepreneurs Dr. Mike Woo-Min and Brian Koz.

Dr. Mike is also the man behind last year's successful Lead Evolution. But these two men both started with working at home but still earned six figure salaries. If someone can teach you how to rake in money online, they're the ones.

What the PPC Evolution does is it essentially maintains your Adwords campaign with the goal of making it most profitable to you as possible.

In order to do this, the software adjusts your campaign by increasing traffic to keywords that are profitable and reducing, and even pausing with your permission, traffic to keywords that aren't doing very good.

PPC Evolution is essentially a software that will keep track of your business in your behalf.

There's quite a lot more. PPC Evolution includes all the necessary information like the costs that you have inquired, your sales and the profits you had in return. It is a software that has the intelligence of a person. What could top that?

The amazing thing about the PPC Evolution is that you can set it to autopilot. For your peace of mind you may want to keep daily tabs on the manual adjustments of bids until you are fully confident of what the software can do. Once you are secure with the PPC Evolution, you may only have to check up every few days.
