The term harassment has always been the definition of torture, irritation by subtlety and bullying through any means, whether through a physical, social or mental attack. Harassment is one form of torture that is often done because it is hard to detect and distinguish from just plain teasing. But it is a phenomenon that every employee should be aware of, because it is an everyday activity.

Employees are subjected to protection from harassment anywhere they go. Harassment is both illegal and unethical in the first place, as it bullies employees, whether singular or as a group, without any proper cause. Even so, harassment usually employs tactics that are so dirty, they are enough to subject the perpetrator to human rights violation questioning. Employees and employers are not allowed to harass each other in the work place. Anyone who starts doing so can be held responsible for their action.

Harassment usually comes in the form of verbal abuse and physical conduct that is both unacceptable and unethical even in loose terms. This includes defamation of any degree, purely because of a factored hostility that stems from the person's status, race, religion, age, handicap, or any physical or mental difference deemed different from the norm.

Harassment becomes a work deterrent when the attacks on the employees cause them to suffer and slowly affect their work rate and performance. Harassment's main goal is to make the work environment of the target as unpleasant as possible. Especially during work hours when the victim cannot afford to be distracted. This makes for quite an unpleasantness that the administration should make an effort to prevent or impede harassment, as this causes a chain reaction of non-productivity within the company.

America is said to be the most ethnically diverse nation in the world. Almost all people from different races and nationalities converge here to work and find their greener pasture. With this condition, there's always a high chance of harassment happening behind the management's back.

A Couple Of Things That Real Estate Investors Should Always Keep In Mind.

What are real estate investors? These people make investments in property with the hope of making a profit from such an investment after a number of years. They therefore take a longer term approach than speculators, who try to make a profit over the short term.

There is one golden rule that applies to all property investments in any type of market: location, location, location. You can rather purchase a run-down property in an upmarket neighborhood, fix it up and put in on the market than buying a huge mansion in a run-down neighborhood.

What is of importance here is a concept called 'over-capitalization', which means you spend money on a property which you can never recoup. A good example would be to buy a small house in a poor neighborhood and then spend huge amounts to add all sorts of luxury features like jacuzzis and swimming pools.

You should much rather buy a two-bedroom house in a good location. Then add more bedrooms, renovate the kitchen, paint it a nice color and make sure the garden looks great. You are much more likely to make a profit from this than in the previous case.

The current worldwide economic downturn caused a lot of unemployment. This resulted in many people being unable to meet their monthly mortgage bond repayments. For the savvy property investor this situation could however present numerous investment opportunities.

If you could get hold of a list of buyers who are in arrears with their bond repayments, chances are that you could buy one of these properties at a bargain price. There are membership-bases websites on the Internet where you can get access to such lists.

Contacting one or ore of these owners and arrange to view the property. Very often they would rather sell to you than allow the bank to repossess the house. Just make sure that the owner didn't neglect the maintenance of the property because he didn't have enough money to do it.

Don't view the current market as a short term source of profits. Real estate investors with a long term view are buying excellent investments right now that will make them small fortunes in years to come. Currently, patience is the name of the game. Buy the property of your choice at a bargain price and wait for the inevitable price increase that will come.

For musicians and composers, a copyright is one of the most important securities that they can get to protect their creations from being used by anyone without their consent. Especially for those who are just starting, it is extremely important that you have sufficient knowledge on copyrighting your work.

Imagine if you have created a masterpiece that could have boosted your career from zero to hero then you hear your piece getting used by somebody else and he gained exposure more than you by using what you have created. Without copyrights, this person would not be liable on stealing your piece nor would you have any rights on claiming your own work.

However, it is a good thing that one convention has discussed the importance of copyrights, and it is a step or a way to make sure that everyone's work will be protected from getting stolen by other people. This convention helped individuals in the music industry pertaining to the ownership of the works that they have created. This had been made possible and was applied to more than a hundred countries worldwide.

Even though the notes or the lyrics had been written in a scratch or a piece of tissue paper, the work is already protected with copyrights. It is just a mere indication that right after a song gets written and recorded, full protection has already been fully granted. After which, no one is allowed to use your work, and claim it as their own.

Furthermore, it is your responsibility to make sure that copyright protection is on your side. One way to make sure that you have legal documents and proof that it is your work is by looking for a third company to register your copyrights.

With enough research, you can surely end up with a reliable and legitimate third party registry as there are a lot of companies who offer their services for the benefits of musicians and composers.

Why You Need A Personal Injury Attorney

Personal Injury Attorney cover cases for individuals that are victims of some kind of accident or intentional harm. Millions of cases develop each year to protect the innocent victims.

You don't need to worry about the attorney fee. In these cases they accept a contingent fee of the award. If the case is lost than you don't need to pay. This is a great thing because it will make them work more for your claim. Also even after you deduct this fee you will obtain more favorable compensation than on your own.

Additional stress on a family or individual who is trying to recover from a devastating accident is undue. While life is not fair, there are remedies to help care for a family that has lost a loved one or is struggling with a chronic injury.

The most common type of personal injury is car accidents. Car accidents are almost always the result of just one person's actions. It takes money to pay for medical or funeral bills, and the money recovered in personal injury cases is often exactly what's needed to prevent further complications from the accident.

Car accident attorneys are capable men and women who can study the car accident that caused the injury or death and find ways for the individual involved to make restitution. Restitution isn't about punishment.

One of the best persons who can refer you to an attorney is your personal doctor. Most probably he knows a few persons.

Strict liability concerns defective items sold by businesses, which cause harm. Intentional relates to willful and intentional acts of harm of a person. Negligence is one of the most common types of claims for cases and has to due with another person ineffective or lacking in the prevention of the harm of another.

Having the funds to take the time you need to get back on your feet or to heal from an injury can mean the difference between full recovery and partial recovery. Returning to work too early can exacerbate an injury and prevent proper healing. Not returning to work can mean bills that are overdue, and possibly foreclosure.

We live in a world that is not so understanding about sudden accidents. Creditors do not wait for payment and medical care is often based on one's ability to pay. When an accident that is not your fault lands you on the sidelines of life, you have limited options. In most cases, those options are tight.

Hiring a personal injury lawyer that you are happy with, have confidence in, and who carries a strong courtroom reputation can change your life one more time. This time it will change for the better.

It's not easy to recover from an injury. It's certainly not reasonable that an injury should wipe you out financially, cost you your home, or cost your children their education. A personal injury attorney is the answer to an unfair world.

In addition, when you consider the risk factors for suicide, like depression, anxiety, stress, divorce, alcohol and substance abuse, attorneys go through many of these at rates that are higher than the general population on a consistent basis. Why do attorneys seem more likely to deal with emotional problems than anyone else? From an anecdotal perspective, lawyers are more likely to suffer from perfectionism and competitiveness. While these traits might drive these people to do their best to excel in life, they also have a down side. An unachievable high coupled with a temperament that is less likely to seek help is a recipe for disaster.

Perfectionism has been known to cause levels of the stress hormone cortisol to rise. Chronically high levels of cortisol play a factor in a variety of health problems including depression. When a mistake is made, which is inevitable, perfectionism blows up the sense of failure.

Add the nature of the work itself to the "type a" personality traits of people who are drawn to the profession, and you can easily see why attorneys may be so stressed. The legal system in and of itself is conflict driven by nature; the other side is always out to prove you wrong. Time constraints, deadlines, and the scrutiny from opposing counsel, the courts, and clients are without doubt huge sources of stress for attorneys.

A number of suicides by lawyers in the past year have called new attention to these problems. Last April, Mark Levy, head of a large law firm died in a suicide at his law office in Washington D.C. In Connecticut, attorney James Ripper spent his lifelong career focusing on residential and commercial real estate transactions. With the market in a slump, his practice dwindled. In November, he hanged himself in his home. In January, Houston attorney John Mason Mings committed suicide, shooting himself.

In May, the American Bar Association started to sponsor a continuing legal education program on lawyers and suicide called "What Lawyers Need to Know About Suicide During a Recession: Prevention, Identity and Law Firm Responsibility." But, regardless of how bad the economy might be, statistics point to the fact that those involved in the legal field might be high risk. Remember that even if they might be the purveyors of your bad news, attorneys are people too. So on April 13, National Be Nice To Lawyers Day, and every other day, show a little kindness to your friendly neighborhood lawyer.

The internet is filled with blogs from frustrated law students seething about the greed of lawyers, the insanely high law school tuition and student debt, and the unrealistic expectations many people hold about how much attorneys are getting paid.

At least one person is gunning for attorneys to get a little loveand it's a non-lawyer! Steve Hughes has campaigned for and gotten April 13th recognized as "National Be Kind To Lawyers Day." April 13th - placed strategically after April Fool's Day but before April 15th (tax day) is a day to honor the approximately 1,143,358 working and inactive attorneys in the United States. Hughe says that on this day, you should take a lawyer you know to lunch, thank a lawyer that might have helped you in the past, or even just a day without the lawyer jokes would be a nice thing to think about.

The honest truth is that attorneys might have to be shown a little more kindness than we may believe. According to a Johns Hopkins University survey of over 12,000 employees spanning over twenty eight occupations, those in the legal profession are more likely to experience depression. In actuality, lawyers are four times more as likely to suffer from depression from the average worker.

Clinical studies have demonstrated that at any given time, between three to nine percent of the population might suffer from depression. Yet a research study of lawyers shows us that nineteen percent were plagued with the debilitating mental illness. And a decade ago, a survey taken by the North Carolina Bar Association showed that almost twenty percent of lawyers who responded showed symptoms of clinical depression, with almost twelve percent confessing that they contemplate suicide at least once a month.

In 1992, the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health's Annual Report found that male attorneys falling into the age span between twenty and sixty four were at least twice as likely as the general population to commit suicide. To cement this fact, the American Bar Association reports that suicides among lawyers are two to six times the rate of the general population.

According to an August 2009 Gallup Survey, a mere twenty five percent of Americans had good things to say about lawyers. Just three industries - the automobile industry, real estate, and oil and gas received more negative feedback. Even as we are in a recession sparked by Wall Street greed, bankers scored better than attorneys in this survey!

Economically, attorneys have suffered from a serious blow just like the rest of us civilians. Experts claim that law firms saw their "lawyer sales" drop by twenty one percent in the year of 2009. That places those who work in the legal field in the second worst industry of the year, falling only behind the wood product manufacturing industry's twenty six percent sales decline.

Since the recession started two years ago, the legal field lost 55,900 jobs as was noted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In the year of 2009 alone, 12,196 employees were terminated by the largest law firms in the country. In fact, the ten largest law firms in America accounted for about sixteen percent of the total layoffs.

Yet, with all of this bad news, one might be led to think that prospective lawyers may be more hesitant to go grab a J.D. Unfortunately just, the opposite is true. According to the Law School Admissions Council, applications to law schools rose by five percent for the next year's incoming class. In the month of September, more than 60,000 students took the LSAT. The June and September tests showed an increase of almost twenty percent in the number of those test takers. This is the largest percentage increase in about eight years.

Incoming law students may fantasize about a six figure salary and a definite job that will annihilate all of the student loan debtbut they should not hold their breath. Even students coming from the most renown law schools packing heat with good grades and the prestige of law journal experience claim they are having a tougher time finding employment. In fact, according to a recent LexisNexis survey twenty one percent of law students that took the polls wished that they had not gone to law school.

The Federal Trade Commission shall host a round-table to discuss debt collection and arbitration practices Aug. 5 and 6 at the Thorne Auditorium, Northwestern School of Law, in Chicago.

The round-table follows up on the FTCs February 2009 report Collecting Consumer Debts: The Challenges of Change " A Workshop Report, which advised that the debt collection regulatory system in the U.S. should be altered and remodeled. The report also released a series of regional round-tables to further discuss debt collection litigation and arbitration, next weeks meeting being the first.

The round-table will be made up of representatives from the collection industry, government officials, judicial system representatives, consumer advocates, academicians and other stakeholders.

On the first day, the round-table will cover litigation topics including service of process, consumer default rates, time-barred debts, evidentiary prerequisites, and trials in collection actions and post-judgment matters. The second day will cover arbitration topics including the role of consumer choice, consumer arbitration codes and behavior in certain situation, perceptions of bias, transparency of results and post-decision issues.

Too many consumer attorneys battle collections not on the keynote of whether the consumer legally owes the debt, but on puny technical issues, according to Markoff. The FTC doesn't manage attorneys. Among the issues ACA International hopes to bring up at the Chicago round-table is the education of consumers regarding statute of limitations for collections, process servers and proper notice for consumers on arbitration issues. NAF agreed to immediately stop accepting cases involving consumer credit.

New Yorks attorney general also announced the filing of a lawsuit against 37 law firms that could potentially overturn 100,000 consumer credit judgments against consumers in the state. The suit also targets two collection lawsuit process servers. In addition to the FTC, NARCA and ACA, others on the round-table will include representatives from Public Justice, the Consumers Union, the Michigan Poverty Law Program, the Michigan Creditors Bar Association, the University of Kansas School of Law, Public Citizen, the Center for Responsible Lending, the Illinois Credit Bar Association, the American Arbitration Association, the AARP Foundation, the National Arbitration Forum and DBA International.

Social networking; it's the way the 21st century communicates. It is in our genes to network with one another. You do it everyday whether you notice it or not, and Facebook is the best online networking resource today. It has over 400 million active users and businesses worldwide. Whether you know it or not a friend, relative or business that you know of is actively using Facebook. So what is it that makes Facebook the king of online networking?

The social networking website started in 2004 and quickly mastered the art of online networking between friends, family, and significant others. Facebook has perfected this skill due to its effectiveness and simplicity of its social matrix. Children as young as 7 use it to blog, live chat, join fan clubs, play games, and even make new friends. They also share pictures, videos, and upcoming events with friends and family across the world.

So what is it that makes Facebook the king of net networking? The social networking site started in 2004 and quickly mastered the art of internet networking between pals, family, and important others. Facebook has perfected this ability due to its efficacy and simplicity of its social matrix. Youngsters as young as seven use it to blog, live discuss, join fan clubs, play games, and even make new pals.

They also share pictures, videos, and impending events with pals and family around the world. I have just latterly returned from a 6-month trip to Europe and found Facebook to be the simplest and most often used kind of networking. It was so straightforward to stay in contact with chums I made during my travels and back at home.

I could also, view photos of them ; and send messages to their Facebook mailbox. Facebook has mastered online networking between companies and shoppers. With over 1,000,000 companies that actively use Facebook, one can almost guarantee a business in any industry worldwide has a page on Facebook. Joining a page can have multiple benefits like ; free give-a-ways, company info, promotions, and vouchers. Any business can simply make a fan page, which permits them to unreservedly and simply hook up with their consumers. During my latest internship at Dibella's Old Fashioned Subs I was given the chance to create an official Facebook page for the company. It only took me a couple of hours before I had a page set up with a company overview, mission statement and product with pictures ( http://www.facebook.com / pages / DiBellas-Old-Fashioned-Submarines / 91406679225?ref=ts ). I also added awards they had won and links to the articles. Inside the initial few days there were already over a hundred fans.

Facebook also uses an application called a reports feed so as to update you on chums / groups and what they are doing or new things that are occuring. So when we were having difficulty getting purchasers to notice our new sub the Premium Chicken Philly I knew precisely how to use this application to my advantage. Straight away I made an eye-popping advert for the Chicken Philly then posted it as a blog, which showed up on the news feed of each one of our fans. Inside the initial few days of the post we saw a rise in sales.

With such an enormous influence over the online social networking market, rivals must work unflaggingly to keep up. Facebook is the king of internet social networking and with the way things are going it's going to be for quite sometime.
